the challenge

Impact Marathon organises trail marathons in Nepal, Jordan,Guatemala, Kenya, and Malawi. For eight years they have traveled with groups ofrunners to local communities, where they spend a full week visiting projects, engaging with the local community, and taking the runners on a journey wherethey can find out what Impact really means, and knowing first hand where theirfundraising efforts will go. By the end of the week, they run 10K, a halfmarathon or full marathon to celebrate the impact journey they began.

our approach

When we began to organise the website redesign, the biggest question the Impact Marathon team had was “how to integrate and reflect the different cultures and communities where they work with the establishedImpact branding.” Because they have multiple "experiences" (more than one destination), "how do they improve the user experience from the moment visitors make the first contact until they receive an email confirming their purchase?" “How to be more visual, attractive and engaging?

We started with a session with the Impact Marathon team to understand objectives, goals, ideas, timeframe, and exchanged ideas on how we imagined the redesign of the website. And we had a lot of homework.

We started with wireframes to rethink the structure of the current pages so the team understood the flow that the page was going to have, the most relevant CTAs,  and key information. It was also the time to raise concerns and doubts to find a solution before jumping into design.

In the end, the most important thing is to always think about the client, identify and integrate their behaviours with the best UX practices so when they visit the page is easy to navigate and is satisfactory for the organization (sales!). Once the wireframes were approved, we continued. with the visual phase - we integrated colours, fonts and photos.

 And... it worked!

The new design integrates the essence of each. experience, each culture, each partner organization and the purpose they have. as an organization.

Connecting each page, CTA, each link so the user doesn't get lost, was one of the biggest and most satisfying challenges we've ever had.

 Keep pushing Impact Marathon!

Our client's thoughts

There are a heck of a lot of moving parts and USPs to what we do that can easily get in the way of effective storytelling. We have always struggled with honing our narrative. The goal of the website redesign was to make that storytelling more direct so that people can see our passion and our ability to deliver right from the start. There is a strong clarity to each page now. The blog integrating with each product page, now gives us the space to deep dive without cluttering the product itself. This flexibility is what we have been searching for and pleased to have harnessed the skills, and deeply caring sensitivity of Bonito with the Easol platform to take our journey to the next level.
