the challenge

Aceite El Buen Samaritano, an olive oil brand born from the mission of The Good Samaritan Association, faced a unique challenge. Located in Sierra Morena, Europe’s largest organic olive oil production area, the NGO uses its 2,000-tree olive grove as part of occupational therapy for individuals at risk of social exclusion.

The brand needed a refreshed identity that could weave together the history of the NGO, its social impact, the beauty of its Andalusian roots, and the premium quality of its organic olive oil.

our approach

Crafting a brand identity that honors purpose, tradition, and excellence

We partnered with Aceite El Buen Samaritano to create a comprehensive rebranding strategy, focusing on three key pillars:

  • Design Concept:
Drawing inspiration from the "Timeless Beauty of Andalusian Architecture," we crafted a visual identity that captures the essence of the region. Patterns and colors reflect the vibrant tiles and serene landscapes of Sierra Morena, while clean, modern typography bridges tradition with contemporary appeal. The packaging design integrates these elements to highlight the land’s historical and cultural significance, creating an evocative and approachable look for the product.
  • Storytelling:
We emphasized the powerful narrative behind the brand. Every detail of the new identity communicates the dual purpose of Aceite El Buen Samaritano: delivering premium organic olive oil while supporting the local community through the NGO’s work. The packaging includes heartfelt storytelling, inviting consumers to learn about the individuals whose lives are transformed through the olive harvest.
  • Health and Quality Transparency:
To reinforce its position as a premium product, the packaging prominently features health-related information, including certifications and nutritional benefits. These details not only align with market trends but also reassure consumers about the quality and authenticity of the olive oil.

The rebranding and packaging redesign have successfully revitalized Aceite El Buen Samaritano’s presence in the European market. The updated design resonates with modern consumers while honoring the heritage and purpose behind the product.

  • Consumer Engagement: The storytelling approach has strengthened emotional connections with the brand, resulting in increased social media engagement and consumer loyalty.
  • Sales Growth: The visually striking and meaningful packaging has contributed to a notable increase in sales across European markets.
  • Brand Perception: Aceite El Buen Samaritano is now seen not just as a premium olive oil brand but as a symbol of community, purpose, and sustainability.

Our client's thoughts

Working with Bonito is very rewarding; from the first contact, they were open to helping us with this charitable project. Our idea was to change the image and design of our extra virgin olive oil bottles. We provided them with some ideas, and after several meetings, they hit the nail on the head, creating a beautiful design that perfectly complemented our product. The design itself is very well executed. Our product comes from the northern part of the province of Cordoba, Spain one of the best places in the world for producing organic extra virgin olive oil. They played with the design of native Cordoba tiles, the colours of the land, the countryside, and the olives. The design is meticulously crafted, and every detail is a work of art. Thank you very much, Bonito, for wanting to help us with this project, which we hope will reach every corner of Europe.
